Cherry's first time in the pasture! Hope spent the entire morning chasing her little speedster around. Thanks to all the love and support of great people like our friend, Sharon Thomason, these babies are healthy and happy! Not even a year ago, Hope & Justice were left tied to cement blocks with no food or water. Now they run free here at Becky's Hope!

Join our mission by clicking the donate button on our Facebook page or consider donating to their care at www.beckyshope.com. Every penny counts! Thank you for being the change and for making a difference!! #rescueworks #babycherry

Taking the internet by storm, the most unlikely of horses was recently welcomed home to Becky's Hope Horse Rescue in Frisco, Texas.

He has become so popular, he has his own Facebook page, and has been featured on Media outlets around the globe!  Follow his story, and the stories of others, whose rescue is made possible by your generous donations.
Here's how it happened, according to Sue Chapman, the founder of Becky's Hope:
BUBBLES!! A story to warm your heart! When we went to bail the mini donkeys from the kill lot, this skinny, grey gelding walked straight up to our trailer, past the gates, disregarding the commands of the kill lot employees.

He was intent that this was his ride out of there. We stood there staring as this old guy with crumbled ears from frostbite waited patiently for the group of mini donkeys to catch up so he could jump on the "freedom trailer" out of there. There was just no way we could leave him behind!

Thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we had just enough money left over to pay his bail. This sweet, old man won our hearts the minute he decided it was the perfect time to escape the kill lot. It seems that he thought nobody would notice him escaping if he simply mixed in with the mini donkeys!
Bubbles is now safe here at Becky's Hope where he continues to hang out with his mini donkey cohorts. If you need a gift for the animal lover in your life...consider giving them the gift of love by sponsoring Bubbles in their name. He has lots of love to give!

Bubbles The Rescue Horse

Sold at auction to the Kill Pen, (Mexico slaughter pipeline) this handsome gelding made his way thru multiple gates, commands of kill pen employees and down the "shoots" to hitch a ride on Becky's Hope Horse Rescue's Freedom Trailer. While they were loading up 9 mini donkeys, Bubbles (the name given to him by the rescue) patiently waited for his turn. The last two steps on the trailer that afternoon were those of Bubbles. Not knowing where he came from or what he has faced in his prior life, all we know now, is that he has frost bitten ears and a heart of gold. He will never have to wonder if he is loved, if he will have food or water because now, he has a safe haven. He has a place to call home and we are so thrilled he chose us. Who Rescued Who?

Just between you, me and the fencepost, it ain't always easy for me to be kind! Especially to unkind people! But unkind people are probably the ones that need kindness the most! Just think, you could change someone's life with one act of kindness! Wouldn't that be something! So go ahead and be kind today!

Did y’all know that I’m what they call a Flea-bit Gray? Looky here at these two photos – see the difference? Look how white I looked with my thick, winter coat! Today with my summer coat, I hardly have any white! It all fell off leaving my speckled undercoat. I think that’s what happened to my moustache too! It fell off along with my winter coat! Here’s some info I found about gray horses…..
“Gray horses can be any color at birth, such as black, palomino, or dun, but they slowly lighten as they age until they are nearly white. Many gray horses develop striking dapples during the course of the graying process, and some bays and chestnuts go through a phase known as "rose gray" where their coats have a pinkish rosy hue. Occasionally, gray horses retain small flecks of color known as "flea bites." Flea-bitten gray horses develop speckles in the original coat color. For example gray horses born chestnut develop chestnut "flea-bites". If this speckling starts soon enough the flea-bites can become quite large and numerous, with the horse developing to look a bit like a leopard spot appaloosa.”
Yep! That would be me! A Flea-bit gray! I kind of like how that sounds! I have to say though, I kind of miss my moustache. I was right proud of that thing! I hope it grows back this comin’ winter.

Love, Bubbs

I know it may seem hard to believe but I used to be a worry-wart! I worried about everything; everything that could potentially go wrong that is! I tell ya what – it was exhausting! I finally realized my worrying was keeping me from enjoyin’ life like I should! The thing about worrying is, it’s actually caused by when ya got the need to control everything around you - keeping it all in the order that you think is right! It took me a long time to realize that’s an impossible thing to do! And it ain’t even necessary! Sometimes a little chaos is good for the soul! Keeps things interestin’! So stop worrying so much! You ain't got nothing to fear – ya ain’t gonna fail! Everything will work out just fine! You got this! Take it all one day at a time!
Cheers! Bubbles.
